SuiteDash Work Requests

We are very excited to announce the newest round of updates for SuiteDash! Included in the most recent update is a big new feature, as well as a smaller addition that we think will still have a huge impact on our customers’ workflow. First up is the addition of Work Requests, which essentially allows clients to begin the workflow that leads to the creation of Estimates, Invoices, or Projects. It’s a huge feature, with a ton of useful potential, and we are excited for our customers to get their hands on it, begin using it, and to hear the feedback. Another important update is the addition of the CKEditor as the new content editor throughout SuiteDash. CKEditor is widely considered one of the best and most trusted web text editors on the market, and gives our customers much more control over the content they create and display to their clients. Finally, we have some updates regarding upcoming SuiteDash features, both in the long and short-term. More info below:

Work Requests

The biggest feature added in the recent updates is Work Requests. Work Requests are a way for you to allow your clients to take the first steps in the creation of Estimates, Invoices, and/or Projects in your SuiteDash installation. Clients will have a simple form they can fill out, which will include a section for adding “items” (that you create and assign a dollar value beforehand) to the request. Once submitted, the admin can view the Work Request, and choose to respond to it via comments to the client, or edit the details. When it’s good to go, the admin can then “convert” the Work Request into either an Estimate, Invoice, or Project. Once converted, all of the details from the Work Request (name, description, assigned client) are carried over, and the “items” from the Request are converted to either billable items (on Estimates/Invoices) or Tasks (in Projects). We think that Work Requests will be incredibly useful for our customers and their clients, and we would love to hear feedback on the feature!

CKEditor

Another addition in this update is the highly regarded CKEditor throughout SuiteDash. This new editor (one of the most trusted web text editors on the market) replaces the previous default WYSIWYG editor, and it provides users with a ton more control and features in regards to the content they create and display to their clients. The CKEditor can be used in places like Portal Pages, Estimates/Invoices, Projects and Tasks, and nearly anywhere else that a text editor box exists. Go try it out and let us know what you think!

Short-Term Horizon

Our Email Marketing functionality is entering the last stages of development and testing, and we are very excited to share it with our customers! This feature will allow SuiteDash customers to create, schedule, send, and manage email campaigns and subscriber lists, right from inside your SuiteDash installation. Email Marketing is alive and functional on our development servers, and we plan to launch it for our customers in the very near future!

Over The Horizon

Looking further ahead, we have just migrated our entire system to a new server configuration, which removes a major roadblock for us to continue development on the Custom URLs feature of our Branded Environments functionality. This feature will allow our customers to completely rebrand the default “app.suitedash.com” URL, to a custom domain of their choosing. We are in the early stages of planning and development now, and we hope to have more information on this front soon.
